Since 1977 National Families in Action (NFIA) has provided leadership for the substance abuse prevention field through its help to families and communities wanting to prevent drug use among children. President & CEO Sue Rusche is NFIA's spokesperson. A nationally recognized expert on prevention, drug legalization, and drugs and the brain, she is the director of the Parent Corps, a national volunteer program for parents who want to protect their children from drugs. She is co-director of the Addiction Studies Program for Journalists with Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
